As we go forward, you will find key dates and announcements posted on this page throughout the search. The Board has approved Kathleen Helewa Educational Consultants, LLC to facilitate the search process. Ms. Helewa, who will be leading the search, comes to us with distinguishing and extensive experience in conducting successful superintendent searches throughout New Jersey. The Cresskill Board of Education needs the perspectives of all of our stakeholders as we begin the search for our new Superintendent. Our Search Consultant, Kathleen Helewa, will be spending a day in our District on Tuesday, October 21 to listen to our stakeholders in a series of in-person input sessions. Ms. Helewa will be meeting with students, teachers and staff, and administrators during daytime hours and with Cresskill families and community members in the evening. These sessions will not be meetings of the Cresskill Board of Education and Board members will not be present.
We urge our families and community members to meet Ms. Helewa in the CHS Auditorium from 6pm--7pm on October 21 to share your perspectives. An anonymous online input survey will be available for all of our school stakeholders from October 8 through October 22 (link will be published on this page).

Update: November 13
The Cresskill Board of Education met on the evening of Tuesday, November 11 with our Search Consultant to review fully the application materials submitted by all of the candidates for Superintendent.
Using the outcomes from the input survey and input sessions conducted with our stakeholders, the Board unanimously selected nine talented and accomplished candidates for first-round interviews. Those interviews will be conducted in closed sessions on Saturday, November 15 and Monday, December 17. Second and third interviews with the candidates who advance through each round will be held in December.
We appreciate your continued support during the search process, and we look forward to posting updates on our progress as they occur.
Update: November 10
As of the close of the application window on November 3, twenty-five candidates have applied for the position of Superintendent: five current Superintendents, two Assistant Superintendents, seven candidates in other district-level director positions, seven school principals, and four candidates in other positions in public education. Twelve candidates have earned doctorates.

The Cresskill Board of Education will convene in executive session during its meeting on the evening of November 11 to examine each of the candidates' qualifications and to determine who will be selected for first-round interviews, using the insights gained from the online survey and the in-person school stakeholder input sessions conducted in October. Thank you to those who gave their time and offered their thoughts in the input session and surveys.

Update: October 23
The online Superintendent Search input surveys closed on October 22, having garnered 131 responses. Thanks to all who completed the online survey and who participated in the in-person input sessions. Ms. Helewa will return to our District on November 4 to meet with faculty and staff.

Update: October 8
The Cresskill Board of Education needs your help as we begin the search for our next Superintendent of Schools! We look forward to your participation in our live input sessions on Tuesday, October 21 (see previous update, below) and we are also pleased to offer a completely confidential online input survey for all of our District stakeholders.
Please take a few moments to thoughtfully participate in this brief survey, which is being wholly administered by our Search Consultant, KHEC LLC, not the school district. All responses are anonymous and will be shared with the Board to determine the suitability of the candidates for the position, and to formulate interview questions.
The survey will close at 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 22.
