Dear Cresskill Community,
We are seeking students, parents, staff, and community members to be a part of envisioning the future of our schools through the strategic planning process.
Our first meeting is this Thursday from 7-9 PM in the high school auditorium. Participants will attend no more than one meeting per month through February/March to help us identify the areas of greatest need in our schools.
If you are interested in participating, please sign up using the link below. Should you have any questions, please reach out to me directly at phughes@cresskillnj.net.
I look forward to what we accomplish together in bringing our schools into the future!
With gratitude,
Dr. Peter Hughes
Superintendent of Cresskill Schools

We are so happy to celebrate our senior volleyball players tonight. They play with heart and ALL GAS!
Please see the attached video about our trauma-informed response to the Israel/Hamas War that broke out this weekend in Israel. We ask all adults in our community to reinforce a message of peace, care, and kindness as many in our community struggle with these events. https://youtu.be/NmHRTtCFuhM
Woohoo! First touchdown for Cresskill/Emerson. Go Cougars!
Dear Cresskill Families,
Please review the linked letter about our new Civility Policy as we finish our Week of Respect, emphasizing the importance of professionalism, care, and kindness for all members of our educational community. This policy will help ensure that every student, teacher, parent, and visitor feels welcome and safe within our schools and at our events.
With Care,
Dr. Hughes

So happy to see the joy on the faces of our "littles" as they met Bryan the Bulldog for the first time. Thank you EHB PTA and administration for a great morning of school spirit and friendship! They do a great job supporting our school!
Here is an update from Friday's early dismissal. Please reach out should you have any questions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTp7shdwvQs
We had a successful and safe closure of the building and are putting up the flood wall out of a preponderance of caution, not because water is near the building. The need to close early was caused by the rising Tenakill, which blocks the entry and exit of the parking lot as shown in the photo. Town emergency personnel, our custodians, our teachers, and our building administrators are commended on a job well done today! There was excellent coordination and teamwork. Thank you parents for your cooperation and flexibility as well. Please know that safety is always our priority. Have a restful weekend. The parking lot and building are currently closed until the water subsides.
Please be advised that we will have standing water at the entrance to the school parking lot for drop off due to a damaged drain that is scheduled for repair. We will be setting up pumps but ask you to pack your patience this morning.
Just a reminder that at 6:30 tonight is the rededication of the high school at the main entrance. All are invited to join us as we celebrate the reopening of our middle and high school after we "built back better"!
Come see our giant scissors as our town officials, board of education, and administrators officially rededicate our high school at 6:30 on Thursday evening before the high school back to school night. All are welcome to celebrate with us at the high school entrance.
We are excited for our ribbon cutting and school rededication this Thursday at 6:30 pm. All are welcome to celebrate our comeback! https://www.canva.com/design/DAFvjtFwb5Q/m0SJUCtFuYZs_lRSh1n7mQ/view?utm_content=DAFvjtFwb5Q&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=publishsharelink
Please be advised that the flood walls will be going up at 11:30 this evening due to the incoming storm and the entire high school building except the gym will be closed to students and staff for the long weekend.
Dear Parents,
In collaboration with our parent groups, we translated the health standards into Korean and Hebrew to ensure our parents can make informed decisions for participation. The new timeline for opting out of any health standards is Thursday, September 21st. The link to the translations is below.
