Dear Merritt Families,

We are very excited to announce that Merritt will once again be going back to the mountains, with our official "Merritt Goes to the Mountains" whole-school trip to Bear Mountain State Park officially approved and scheduled for Thursday, May 25!

While the academic program students experience each day at Merritt  is extremely important, we think it's equally important for students to have opportunities to be present, be outside, and be in the company of one another.  Merritt Goes to the Mountains will once again provide students at all grade levels with this opportunity and we are looking to build on the success of our inaugural Merritt Goes to the Mountains trip last year with expanded and differentiated activities for each grade level during this year's trip.  Teachers are currently planning the activities for each grade level and more information about the schedules, chaperones, and permission slips for the day will be shared in the coming weeks.

Through the generous support of our HSA, this trip will once again be entirely free for all students and each student will receive a "Merritt Goes to the Mountains 2023" t-shirt to wear for the trip and to help remember it after.  With that in mind, I ask that you please take a few moments to complete the Merritt Goes to the Mountains - Student T-Shirt Size Form by Friday, April 14.  This will ensure that the HSA is able to order appropriately sized t-shirts in time for our trip for each student.

Thank you for taking a few moments to complete the t-shirt size form for each of your children.  We hope that you are as excited as we are about this year's trip and look forward to sharing more information about the day with you soon!

Best,

Sean Conlon, Merritt Memorial School Principal
