This is just a reminder that we are hosting our second Strategic Planning Meeting at LG North American Headquarters from 7-9 PM tonight. We are looking for students, staff, residents, parents, and community members that want to help plan the innovation and learning for our next five years. All are invited to 111 Sylvan Way in Englewood Cliffs to sign up to participate on committees and to view LG's Innovative Learning Labs.

Do you know a classroom teacher or educational services professional who is dedicated, inspiring, and making a difference? Students, staff, parents, and colleagues are all welcome to make recommendations. Due to the state deadlines, all recommendations must be received by 10 am on Monday, December 4.

All Cresskill residents, students, and staff are invited to join us on November 28th from 7-9 PM for our second session of strategic planning. This session will be hosted at LG North American Headquarters where we will see various demos and form into planning groups.

Merritt HSA hosts OUR STRENGTH IS IN OUR COMMUNITY tomorrow, Thursday, 11/16 from 6-8pm in the Media Center. Please join us for an evening of Mindfulness and Breathwork with our Special Guest & Merritt Parent, Ms. Rotem Hornedo! Given the challenging times our communities are experiencing, we wanted to extend this opportunity to get together and share exercises to guide us through these difficult times. Please bring a mat and wear comfortable clothes. Adults only.

In the spirit of embracing Gratitude and Kindness this month, the HSA is launching a new fundraiser, RAISE CRAZE. Students will fundraise to do Acts of Kindness throughout their homes and communities. This fundraiser will run for 3 weeks and conclude on Monday, 12/4. We hope this infuses the entire month with the spirit of thankfulness and goodwill, while students engage in acts of kindness to support our school enrichment programs and Cresskill Cares! There are also exciting incentives to encourage participation: the class with the highest donations will receive a Pizza Party as a reward AND if the whole school reached their goal... a school-wide ice cream party!!!

Just a reminder that we are hosting "Trauma Informed Parenting" as part of our Coffee with the Superintendent series. In-person is at 8:30 AM in the EHB Cafeteria. Virtual is this evening at 8:00 PM. All are welcome!

The fifth grade completed their science unit yesterday with a lab dissecting owl pellets. Do you have an idea of was found as then took time to dissect the contents of the pellets?! Look through the pictures to see more!

Next Monday, November 6th, Dr. Hughes and Dr. Amato will be hosting a special event for TRAUMA INFORMED PARENTING in person at 8:30 am at EHB and virtually at 8:00 pm to discuss ways to support children through times of trauma. These sessions will focus in particular on helping our children with resilience, provide helpful insight into their needs and how to provide a supportive environment at home and school. Dr. Hughes won the math fact challenge today. He almost lost to our elementary students at Merritt School though. They are super fast!

Some great protections are being put into place as we fix our front drainage and install new flood barriers. This will work to greatly enhance the protection of our high school from any threats of water.

We are so excited that our Director of Special Education, Dr. Janelle Amato, is representing Cresskill as she speaks to school board members from across the state at the NJSBA conference in Atlantic City. @njsba

Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of living a drug free life. We will be hosting a spirit week to acknowledge Red Ribbon Week from October 23rd - October 27th.

Thank you to the 55 participants that began the work towards creating a five year strategic plan for our schools. Students, staff, parents, and BOE members all lent their expertise to the process. We are excited to realize our collective vision that we make together!
