No Place for Hate

We are thrilled to share that Cresskill High School has been recognized with Gold Star Distinction as a 2024–2025 No Place for Hate School! This prestigious honor marks the sixth consecutive year that our school has earned this designation—and the first time we've achieved Gold Star status, which celebrates schools that go above and beyond in promoting inclusion, respect, and a sense of belonging for all students.

This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of Mrs. Grace Chun and her remarkable student group, whose outreach initiatives continue to have a lasting impact on our school community. We are deeply grateful for their hard work and leadership.

We are also proud to announce that Isabella Disaverio, a junior at Cresskill High School, has been awarded the Cynthia Marks Student Legacy Award—an honor given to one high school student each year who demonstrates exceptional leadership in advancing the goals of No Place for Hate. Isabella received this well-deserved recognition at the No Place for Hate Banner Ceremony at NYU's Skirball Center on May 20th. Her passion and commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive school environment inspire us all.

Congratulations to Isabella, and heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Chun and all of our student leaders for championing this important work. We remain committed to fostering a positive, supportive learning atmosphere for every member of our school community.

What is No Place For Hate?

With public displays of hate on the rise, it is more important than ever for schools to commit to programs that clearly define expectations in behavior for all members of the community. Whether you are a student, educator, or family member, you have a role to play in combating bias and bullying as a means to stop the escalation of hate.  No Place for Hate, an initiative of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), offers the opportunity for school communities to work together to combat prejudice and enhance a culture of respect.  No Place for Hate is a self-directed program helping all of the stakeholders take the lead on improving and maintaining the school climate so all students can thrive.
