NJ SOLO & ENSEMBLE FESTIVAL
Sponsored and created by NJ Arts Ed, The New Jersey State Solo and Ensemble Festival was created in an effort to give our students an opportunity to continue their studies in solo and small ensemble literature in the absence of the usual county, regional and state audition opportunities. The organization states their overall goals to include: Improving students’ music performance through assessment, increase students’ understanding of music literature and music concepts, motivate students to continue the study of music, establish standards of excellence in music performance, provide opportunities for students to understand the relationship of music experiences to other life experiences. 17 of our talented students prepared themselves and created/submitted videos to be adjudicated by musicians of the highest caliber from NJ.
The following students achieved the Gold 1* rating, making them eligible to participate in the State Solo Festival in Spring 2021. A Gold 1* rating is achieved by scoring 28 or higher on a 30 point rubric.
